Nothing much this week, just a pair of siblings. The sister is the one on the left, and the brother is on the right.

It’s a pikachu boy. No idea what possessed me to do this…

And a Mario girl? Hmm… Between these two, I’d have to conclude that I have Smash Bros. on the brain… On a related note, overalls are a pain to draw. :/

Some guy with a funny sword. No real story behind this one.

His hair is similar to the thief kid that’s been showing up in my sketchbook lately, but he’s not the same person. This guy is a character from a story idea that still doesn’t exist on paper–just like nearly all my other ones. 🙂

I really need to start scanning these earlier…

Oh look, it’s that thief kid again. He’s just showing up everywhere… Maybe it’s a sign of things to come? *hint, hint* This time he isn’t wearing his bandana.

As you can plainly see, this isn’t exactly a sketchbook sketch, but it is a sketch all the same. It was done with a ballpoint pen while I was trying to jot down some work-related mental notes. (Located on the same page is a barebones outline for the next four or five chapters of Swordmaster Odyssey.)

Doing my best to get back into the swing of things now that the month of December has come and gone. So far, so good.

The thief kid from Sketchbook Monday #9. I don’t know if I like the way his eyes are drawn here.

You may notice a few changes here and there to the look of the blog. Not sure how much of it will stay, but I think it helps a little bit to tell entries apart, espeically those that are posted on the same day. Before, there was nothing visually that helped seperate entries like that.

It looks like this will be my last entry for this year. Wow, where did all the time go? I wasn’t finished with it yet!

I was unusually diligent in sketching things out this week and have picked out the best of the best to showcase for you.

I saw this hairstyle in an old sketch of mine and it looked like it was fun to draw. So I drew it again! He makes a cute little boy, doesn’t he? Of course, that bow on his shirt makes him look an awful lot like a girl. That wasn’t my intention, mind you…

I felt like drawing something different, so I sketched this guy out. I love the post and angle on it. I also like the face that he has beady little eyes and a hook-like nose but still manages to look strong and heroic. It makes him interesting… At least to me. I’ll have to find someplace to use him.

Not a whole lot to see this Christmas Eve, but I do have one sketch to share.

Not much to look at, I know. Just two sisters I had an idea for a short story about not long ago and never did anything with.

And just like that, we’ve hit the double digits! This was, of course, supposed to happen last week, but that’s just how the cookie crumbles. Whatever that’s supposed to mean.

A generic elite trooper. He’s very generic. That’s why you don’t see his face. That way, when there are five of them on screen at once, it’s not as noticable that they all look exactly the same!

This is the princess from the previous Sketchbook Monday, only this time dressed as a princess and probably not on the run.

Oh, look, it’s Sketchbook Monday on an actual *Monday* again!

Once upon a time not so long ago, she was a gentle princess doted on by her parents and the palace servants. Now she is forced to disguise herself as a commoner in order to eventually escape by slipping across the border.

The self-proclaimed “noble thief” except… he’s not a particularly good thief by any stretch of the imagination. He ends up tagging along with the princess, leaving the former capital behind after one of his attempted burglaries ends up not quite how he had expected. (Truth be told, I’m not completely satisfied with either character’s outfits. I think they’ll get a drastic change before you see them again…)
